About Me

I am a fourth-year student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and am currently studying Chemistry. My interest in art began with the COVID-19 quarantine when I picked up 3D art as a pass time. All the work I have done has been through Blender a 3D modeling and rendering software primarily, but I have used some other programs to create custom textures or edit the images after rendering.

Most of my original inspiration came from Andrew Price, known as Blenderguru on youtube. I used his videos, and a few others’, to learn how to use blender then once I felt I had a good understanding I simply began attempting to replicate the art I saw on Reddit. Now I tend to just browse Reddit and get inspiration from them or to just have an idea pop into my head that grabs my interest.

My focus tends to be on replicating real-life by either imitating images or creating entirely fake items intended to fool the viewer. Personally, what I enjoy the most is being able to show my friends and family a render I made and have them be surprised that it is not real and hear the feedback they give me on how I can improve it. My approach tends to be to find an image or scene that I find interesting and then attempting to replicate the results in a 3D environment of my own making. This does not always work but gives me the material to create my own spin on the piece. For example, I tried to recreate a scene from inception with the spinning top but couldn’t get results I liked so instead I simplified it into a nice looping animation that I am proud of.
